01 / CAPTURE

Save the whole story.

Scan supported codes, photograph a label, or type a code yourself. Keep useful images, PDFs and notes beside the device.

02 / ORGANISE

A place for every device.

Organise by home and room. Search by name, maker or location. Import selected names and rooms from Apple Home, then add the codes.

03 / RECOVER

Ready for the next reset.

Reveal a code when you need it. Keep a separate JSON backup, or use manual iCloud sync to recover your vault on another device.

Private by design

Your codes deserve
a little care.

  • No advertising or tracking SDKs in the app
  • No separate Setup Code Vault account
  • Optional iCloud sync and Family vault invitations
  • Export your records in a versioned JSON file

A few useful things to know

Before you put the box away.

Can Apple Home give the app my saved setup codes?

No. Apple Home provides selected home, room and accessory metadata, but does not expose saved setup codes. Add the code from the device label, packaging or documentation.

Does it control or pair my smart-home devices?

No. Setup Code Vault stores the information you need. Use Apple Home or your device maker’s app to pair and control accessories.

How do I protect my backup?

JSON backups contain readable codes and attachments. Store them somewhere private. The local encryption key stays on its device, so keep an export or use iCloud sync before changing or resetting your phone. Read the recovery guide.

Does iCloud sync happen automatically?

Sync is manual in V1. Use Settings → iCloud & family sharing → Sync after making changes. If copies conflict, the app asks which one to keep.
