Terms & useful information.

A companion for keeping setup information, made for iPhone and iPad.

App licence

When downloaded from the App Store, Setup Code Vault is licensed under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, together with the applicable App Store terms. This page explains the product and does not replace your applicable statutory rights.

Free and Family

Free permits up to six device records. Family is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that removes the device-count limit and enables shared-vault invitations. Each participant needs Family access. Apple manages payments, refunds and purchase sharing. The App Store displays the price applicable to your region before purchase. There is no subscription.

Keep a recovery copy

The local vault is encrypted with a device-only key. Make a separate export or sync with iCloud before resetting, replacing or removing the app from a device. JSON exports are unencrypted. Keep them private and review the backup guidance.

Device compatibility and limits

Setup Code Vault stores information; it does not control or pair accessories, guarantee that a code is accepted by a device, or obtain setup codes from Apple Home. Camera scanning depends on supported Apple hardware. iCloud features require an available Apple Account and connection. Sync is manual in V1. Attachments have a 10 MiB limit and the encoded vault a 45 MiB limit.

Your information and shared vaults

Only add information you are entitled to store or share. Review recipients and permissions before inviting anyone. A person with access can copy or export information, and that copy cannot be recalled by later removing access.
